    5.12.1 | Factions Reset (December 2019)

    Factions
    will be resetting on Saturday the 14th of December at 4PM EST

    This Christmas Map will be a special one as we have a lot of new features, changes, new administration, fairer rule/gameplay changes and more!

    Reset Info

    In order to make getting a corner as fair as possible we will be disabling the following things during the first hour of grace period:
    • /wild will be disabled
    • /fly will be disabled
    • Ender-pearls/pearling will be disabled
    • Everyone will have speed 2 & No hunger loss for the duration of the hour to make getting to corners less annoying
    Christmas F-Top Rewards
    This map there will be 2 PAYOUTS, which will be paid out weekly.
    As it is a Christmas holiday map, the weekly payouts have been increased:

    • 1st Place: $400 PayPal
    • 2nd Place: $200 PayPal
    • 3rd Place: $150 PayPal
    Total Prize Pool: $1500!
    Winners will be determined every Saturday at 4PM EST. The payouts will begin 1 week after grace period.

    New Spawn, Warzone, KOTHs, Castle!
    Get into the Christmas spirit because we have plenty of new builds for the Christmas reset!
    A new Chistmas themed spawn has been added, a new KOTH NORTH of spawn and a winter themed Castle to the EAST of spawn (/warp castle).

    The current warzone has been with us for over a year. We will be implementing seasonal warzones from now on! For this reset, we are introducing a winter themed warzone! The warzone claim has also been extended to 50 chunks from the center.

    World Changes

    • Main world (/spawn)
      • 10,000 x 10,000 (-5,000 to 5,000) - Spawn in the middle
        • Semi flat, vanilla biome. Y height: 60
      • 1,000 x 1,000 winter warzone
      • KoTH at NORTH of /spawn
      • Castle at WEST of /spawn
      • No SOUTH koth (moved to PVP world)
    • The End (/warp end)
      • 6,000 x 6,000 (-3,000 to 3,000) - Spawn in the middle
        • Flat endstone from Y:1 to Y:60
    • Moon (/warp moon)
      • 6,000 x 6,000 (-3,000 to 3,000) - Spawn in the middle
        • Flat sandstone from Y:1 to Y:60
    • [NEW] Mars (/warp mars)
      • 6,000 x 6,000 (-3,000 to 3,000) - Spawn in the middle
        • Flat red sandstone from Y:1 to Y:60
    Bard Class
    This is a new SUPPORT class available to ALL players. All you have to do is wear a FULL set of Iron Armor and it will provide a generous buff permanently as long as you have the armor on!

    • Perks when wearing FULL iron armor:
      • Permenant Speed 2, Regen 1, Resistance 2
      • Gain energy (0-100) over 50 seconds automatically
    As Bard is a SUPPORT class, you can provide extra effects to your faction team members within a 10 block radius! This is excellent during intense PvP battles! There are 2 ways to support your team mates:

    1. Bard held item effects
    Hold the following items in your hand and unlock these effects

    • Magma Cream - Fire Resistance for 5 seconds
    • Blaze Powder - Strength 2 for 5 seconds
    • Ghast Tear - Regeneration 1 for 5 seconds
    • Sugar - Speed 2 for 5 seconds
    • Feather - Jump 1 for 5 seconds
    • Iron Ingot - Resistance for 5 seconds
    2. Bard right click effects
    Right click the following items and unlock these effects. Upon activation, some of your energy will be consumed! There is also a 10 second cool-down between each use.
    • Blaze Powder - Strength 3 for 3 seconds
      • Consumes 40 Energy
    • Iron Ingot - Resistance 4 for 3 seconds
      • Consumes 50 Energy
    • Feather - Jump 5 for 3 seconds
      • Consumes 30 Energy
    • Sugar - Speed 3 for 3 seconds
      • Consumes 40 Energy
    • Ghast Tear 3 - Regen 3 for 3 seconds
      • Consumes 50 Energy
    Faction Counter Claims
    To defend against counter cannons while raiding we have added Faction Counter Claims! Here's how to use them:
    • /f counter claim - Creates counter claims in a radius of 5
    • /f counter unclaimall - Unclaimall command will unclaim all of your counter claims
      • You cannot unclaim single counter claims at a time
      • You can only have 1 set of counter claims claimed at a time

    Counter claims cannot be used to raid a faction, Only used to defend. The punishment for this will be the same as not using raid claims (You can see the punishment in the /f warns GUI)

    Faction Warnings
    Due to the ever growing rule bypassing and unfair tactics, we have been forced to introduce Faction Warnings and Punishments for those that don't follow the rules.

    • You can view what the warnings are using /f warns

    Faction Inspect Updates
    You can now check recent activity for items put into and taken out of your faction vault (/f vault)
    • Use /f inspect to open the GUI

    Claim Filling
    You can now fill in claims between 2 positions on /f map by using the new Claim Filling feature to make claiming even easier!
    • To begin, simply select your first position with - /f claim pos1 and then your second position with /f claim pos2

    • After setting the two positions you want, use /f claim fill and it will fill in every claim between the 2 positions

    Factions Rules
    The team has updated ALL the rules relating to the Factions gameemode, /f top and raiding

    Please familiarse your self and your faction members with the rule changes as we will be very strict this upcoming map and enforcing punishments.


    Gameplay Changes
    • Increased /f top payouts for Christmas Map
    • New world - Mars (/warp mars)
    • Extra world sizes are now 6,000 x 6,000 (main world is still 10,000 x 10,000)
    • Lowered Creeper spawner price to 2m
    • Added unbreaking 5 to all gkit's armor
    • Added armor to summer gkit
    • Removed unused spawners in gkits and replaced with blaze
    • Reduced carpet price in shop ($4,800 > $500)
    • Added cobblestone stairs to raid shop ($500)
    • Updated /f help to show every new command
    • Nerfed TNT drop rate to 20%
    • Reduced amount of damage armor takes by 25%
    • Castle spawn rate boost no longer applies to creepers
    • Nerfed Zombie Pigman gapple drop rate to 0.0005 (was 0.0025)
    • Increased gapple cooldown to 3 minutes
    • New KOTH added to /warp pvp
    • Slightly buffed koth/lms rewards
    • PvP Arena updated to prevent escaping
    • Increased KOTH Capture time to 5 minutes
    • Disabled invisibility potions
    • Disabled /f access command
    • Changed KOTH capture upgrade points from 1 to 2
    • Lowered max sharpness to sharpness 5
    • Lowered max protection to protection 4
    • Auto bottle chests now work when the owner is offline
    • Improved item pickup speed
    • You no longer need inspect mode to be on when viewing other /f inspect logs
    • The knockback enchant has been disabled while being raided
    • Added f perm for spawning bosses
    • Removed ftop value from blaze/zombie/skeleton spawners
    • Added a /f tnt balance cap of 10 million tnt
    • Removed TNT wand and Kill tracker from Mob Coin spins
    • Removed gust from obtainable enchant list
    • Removed swiftness from obtainable enchant list
    • Removed fusion from obtainable enchant list
    • Removed mars taunt from obtainable enchant list
    • Nerfed concussive blow enchant from a max chance of 25% to 9%
    • Nerfed wither aspect from a max chance of 13.5% to 9%
    • Changed fortified wall time from 3s to 2.5s
    • Added Infinity 1, Protection 4 enchant signs to /warp xp
    • Added Protection 4, Unbreaking 2 enchant signs to /warp farm for all players
    • The /printer command will now automatically be toggled off while in combat
    • Bosses will no longer send items to claimbox and will instead drop them on the ground if your inv is full
    • Shield will now be ignored for traps next to spawn
    • Spawner hunt will now only spawn spawners in moon, mars and end world
    • Blocked auto text mod in BLC client everywhere
    • Fixed being able to sit on the edge of regions and hit players with enderpearls to get out of combat
    • Disabled bows and knockback enchant during the first hour of grace period
    • Hitting players with eggs during the first hour of grace period has been disabled
    • Inactive players will now get kicked after 7 days of inactivity
    • Warzone claim is now 50 Chunks out from spawn
    • Warps Menu updated - /warps

    • Supply crate locations have been changed due to the new warzone!
    • Mob Coins upgrades will now require MobCoins instead of cash
    • Updated /worldsize info

    • There will be a Christmas grace period around christmas, keep an eye on the changelogs.
    Bug fixes
    • Fixed end world not being made up of end stone
    • Fixed sponge bug causing lava/water to not properly get removed in the correct radius
    • Fixed sell hoe exploit where player would place blocks and break sugarcane to upgrade hoe faster
    • Fixed bug that caused event bosses to sometimes not spawn
    • Fixed faction shields interfering in raid event
    • Every NPC will now properly show up on regular 1.8 and will not disappear
    • Fixed strength 3 from bard not properly nerfing damage like strength 2 does
    • Fixed bows removing poison during lms
    • Fixed koth hoppers giving the wrong amount
    • Fixed players not being invisible in spawn during the first hour of grace period when they should
    • Fixed exp bottles not being able to be sold in the auction house
    • Fixed brewing stands not being able to brew stacked splash potions
    • Splash potions are no longer able to be stacked
    • All lms players will now have the same nametag to try to mitigate some of the teaming problem
    Ban List Purge/Reset
    Due to the festive season, we begin the holiday updates with a global ban wipe. This is a chance to give banned players a second chance and to undo some of the incorrect bans made in the past. Of course, severe bans will remain, they know who they are.

    The ban list purge will take place this Friday. If there are issues, please submit a ticket.

    Why are anti patch attachments disallowed this season?

    The rule for towning (factions building next to each other) states that whatever faction has more value gets to keep their spot and the other faction gets world edited out. Was the rule intending to allow another faction to meme another faction by out grinding them to get their base removed?

    There is another rule that states a cannon in a raid claim must be destroyed before a new cannon is made, but what is considered destroyed? Can I just kill the clock of the cannon and consider it destroyed? Kill the carpet on the sand comp?

    Due to the new warning system for factions, a faction can emergency break a rule to save their base if they're about to be breached (ex. counter with 2 cannons). Factions can also fire from both sides of a base and breach and gain value knowing that . Will there be punishments more than a simple 3 point warning for the faction? or will there be a rollback to the cannon box if countered with 2 cannons? will walls/the base get rolled back due to illegal raiding?

    Spawners must be 5 block pillars and under a grinder, but what if I made an entire 10x10 base a grinder with 5 block pillars spread really far apart? Is that allowed?

    Printer/Gen Patching is not allowed while being raided in the new rules, but does that mean a raid is over when a cannon box is countered thus allowing genning/printer patching?

    Will there be a way to tell when a faction was last fired at since there is a 30 min timer between different factions raiding another faction?

    1: Towning would be decided on value, checking of logs, and the time the base was created. This would be up to the staff member.
    2: No, Simply breaking one block isn't destroying, blow it up.
    3: Normally I'd say this would be a problem, however seeing as the rules that are bad such as what you mentioned would give 3 warning points, it wouldn't be in their best interest to do this, not to mention they'd have to do it for a whole week and by that time they'd be dq'd. Any rules we feel need more warning points applied to them will be changed and changelogged.
    4: No, your spawners must be bunched together, however putting different spawners in your corners in packs is perfectly fine, spreading them across the roof is not
    5: The raid is over when the raid is over. If players are shooting at you and their cannon gets blown up, but they decide to attempt to repair it, you cannot start using gen buckets while they're doing this, you must wait for them to be fully done, same as the previous maps.
    6: Yes, everything is logged, you'd simply check when the first explosions in each cannon went off

    That sounds like a very vague rule that could be used to force warning points to a faction just by repairing a cannon box like 15 minutes after being countered and leaving the box while the faction being raided are genning back their walls and not consistently checking the cannon box for people that might be repairing. It also seems annoying because I could just destroy my old cannon and opt for a quick to build one stacker with a rev module just to prevent people from gen patching at all.

    When you say everything is logged, is there even a way for a normal player to check these logs? Players need to be able to know when 30 minutes have elapsed since the last shot hit a faction's wall, or they could take the risk and fire anyways XD

    Tbh custom enchants for pvp should be dropped all together it ruins the skill aspect of pvp when you can just have a god set and be so much more op than everyone in normal prot 4
